Back at it with #TankaTuesday. We were invited to use seasonal words to create a winter poem. Love is always on my mind, so here we go!
Love like icicles They grow, lengthen, sharpen, fall. I will melt with you.
Hope this doesn’t seem cold 🙂

What a great senryu! I like it, Mark. Wasn’t there an 80s song that said, “I’ll melt with you?” LOL!

I was thinking about the same song! Also, I thought it couldn’t be a senryu because it is a simile.

Icicles make it sound cold… like a ‘winter’ love. But then ‘melt’ shows the warmth of love. Nice one!

Kind of reminds me of the Ice Hotels… then melting with the one you love under furs… that would be ‘cool’ 😉

Odd to have a cocktail in an ice glass that you have to wear mittens to handle…

I don’t know what happened to my comment. This is an excellent poem. And your last one is pretty humorous.

Wow, Mark… this is so cleverly written – I’d never thought to connect love & icicles like that before!
Much love,
